About
Echoes of an ethereal world
YOMI is the in-between space where a beating impulse and profound hopelessness live in chaotic harmony. She is the whisper in an ethereal world; a wandering passenger, a woman returning, a loss but also an encounter. YOMI intends to give her a body, to compose her, to dress her, to give her a world, a universe she might have loved to live in, to give her a chance to be. Captivating, she is a fantasy, unshakeable, she is a Diva.
“It is hard to explain why... Probably because of her. I believe I have been searching for a way to tell this story. To witness this story. Not a story with a beginning and an end, or a specific place and time zone really. It is more about the taste of life. This turning point, when they stop watching, when the isolated journey begins, a certain sense of desolation essentially. “A profound sadness” as I once labelled it. What do you do with that? The regret. YOMI is all about a woman, this woman “I” could not be. YOMI is about this regret, this loss. I thought she would come and find me and somehow I am still waiting for her. In the meantime, I have decided to give her a space to live. Now that I know nobody is ever really watching”.
Welcome to YOMI.
